New Art for My Comic is Flying High!
Plus Some TV Worth Binging and Another Aristotle Deep Dive!
We’re airborne, Unknown Explorers!!!
I hope you had great time celebrating Labor last weekend, but now that’s done, I have some cool things to share:
First, check out some new glimpses of the incredible art Nico Longoria has been making for my one-shot comic, The Airship! We are past the halfway mark for completing the art and letters for all 20 pages, and I can’t be more pleased with how it’s going. Just look at some of these cool images Nico has made so far!
Our new comic book production team, The Panelsmiths, has a new logo and release date! The first teaser comic leading up to a three volume anthology of original science fiction comics will be released digitally on September 14th. I’ll be sure to send out a special invitation when that happens. You can follow the group’s instagram here for up to date info. In the meantime, check out these cool logos:
Writers! Be sure to check out Part III of my Arcane vs Aristotle Deep Dive below. There’s some really useful things I am learning, and I’m planning on putting out a newsletter in the coming weeks exclusively to wrap up this analysis and share some really cool information I’ve been gathering about the making of Arcane!
Have a great rest of your week everyone, and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more from me very soon!

Sterling’s Deep Dives:
Arcane vs Aristotle: Part III
Since this Deep Dive is going longer than expected, I broke out this shorter section that will lead into my final analysis of Arcane in the next newsletter. This section deals with how to use a minor character well to develop a more complicated and interesting major character.
Next time I will go deeper into Aristotle’s ranking system for the four types of tragic incidents—as well as his four types of tragedy (two different things, I assure you.) These elements get really interesting and will help you discern why your reaction to some stories is “meh” versus when you walk away from a show going,“Holy sh-t, that was amazing!”

What I’m Watching: Graphic Novel Adaptations Edition!
These shows have been out for a little while this summer, but if you haven’t watched them, maybe I just planned your next Saturday binge date! These are three graphic novel adaptations that I really enjoyed so maybe you will, too.
Secret Arts & Forbidden Arts:
I didn’t want to leave the creative followers hanging out to dry this time, so here’s two great videos artists may find useful about anatomy study and Clip Studio time savers!
