My Comic is SOLD OUT! (But ways to still get one?)
Signings, Exclusive Comics, and Anime Reviews for the Spooky Season
Happy spooky season, Explorers!
Apologies for this newsletter being so irregular, but there’s lots going on and lots to share! So let’s just dive in:
The Airship is a SELL OUT!
That’s right! CEX ordered all the copies they expected to sell plus some overflow, and when the final orders came in, they had oversold!
What does this mean for you?
First, if you pre-ordered, you have nothing to worry about. Your copies are on the way to wherever you ordered them.
Second, if you did not pre-order, there is a chance a comic shop near you ordered some where you can buy a copy. While promoting, I tried to reach out to comic shops all across the U.S. and some in Europe. So while I can’t guarantee they bought copies, you can always ask.
Third: Because I knew that I still had several friends who were expecting me to have leftover copies (which I thought I would), CEX gave me the rights so I could do my own second limited print run. These copies will not be the CEX published copies, but they are the exact same comic and will be special collectables as a limited edition.
So, if you are desperate to own a copy of my comic, you still have a chance with one of these options, but please note these are very limited. Stores will not be able to order more after their stock runs out, and I could only afford to print about 100 copies on my own, some of which are earmarked for my artists.
If you are interested in getting your hands on one of my special editions, reach out to me via email (sterfest@gmail.com) or DM me on instagram. Once they are gone, they are gone!
Comic Book Signing in Chicago
Chicago locals (or anyone in town), I am doing my first ever signing at Challengers Comics & Conversation (1845 N Western Avenue) on November 2nd! I still need to get the exact times, but I will be there with copies of The Airship to sign and sell.
PLUS, as an extra incentive to get people to come out to Challengers, I am reprinting a very special edition of my first self-published book of comics, Oranges Are Funny! This is a very limited edition that is slightly larger and includes 20 extra pages not in the original book. For anyone who buys one, I will also throw in a cute sticker of some happy, uneaten oranges. (If you don’t want the book, but want the sticker, you can still buy one stand alone.)
I have only printed 25 copies of this very exclusive and sure to be very valuable edition, so if you want one, be sure you come to Challengers to get a personalized signed copy.
New Comics
I have a new short story in development that I am writing and drawing myself. This will be part of a horror anthology that I am working on with a group of comics creators which will hopefully come out early next year. It will also be added to my growing collection of paranormal/high strangeness short stories I plan to make into my own comics anthology in the future. More information to come soon!
Unknown Japan
Tis the season for horror, so I figured I’d take in some of the new anime I’ve been meaning to watch on streaming! Both of these anime are brand new, so I am only reviewing the first two episodes of each. Hopefully it will give you an idea of if they are something that you would be interested in, but if you are like me and love weird entertainment, I think you aren’t going to want to miss either of these series.
WARNING: There are some disturbing images in this post that may upset some readers. Nothing inappropriate, but definitely disturbing.
Reviews & Recommends
Finally, Unsolved Mysteries just posted three new paranormal and high strangeness episodes on Netflix, and they are top-notch investigations into paranormal colleagues, cattle mutilations, and the famous Roswell event. You can read my thoughts here:
That’s all for now, folks. Enjoy your spooky season, and stay safe wherever you are in the world!
