Greetings from beyond the veil, Explorers!
Finally getting a new post out after a busy month of marketing my new comic book, The Airship. The window for comic shops to order ends on August 5th for those ordering from Diamond and August 11th for those ordering from Lunar, so there is still time! If you have a shop you can visit or call, showing interest really increases the chances more shops will order their own copies to sell. (And I make some money back on my very expensive investment.)
After the distributor dates end, you will still be able to order at the shops, but the number of comics printed will be locked in. So ordering then will be limited to how many extra copies CEX decides to print after Diamond/Lunar orders are in. Here’s more on how to get yours here:
Once those extra copies are gone, unless there’s some massive interest in printing another run (not likely for a first time author’s one-shot) that will likely be all she wrote, and you will be forced to fight and steal copies from each other. It will be a savage time, I fear, so order now!
I am going to continue marketing for the next few months to some non-comic shops and to generate interest for any stores who did order copies. I’m new to all this marketing stuff, but I’m learning that a lot of it is just plain grunt work—looking up comic shops on the internet, finding names and emails, and contacting them. Over and over again.
My close pal, Arturo, (panicfilms.com, @panicfilms ) does freelance video editing for companies and private individuals, and he was kind enough to help me edit some short promotional videos.
I felt pretty rusty getting in front of a camera again after years of not being on stage, but thanks to Arturo’s talents, he cut together videos that look really nice and covers for my awkward improvised lines. Check out the video here:
I’ll continue to keep you posted as new information and promotional material comes out. If you don’t follow me on my instagram, be sure to check there as it is where I post most often, @sterfest.art.
Also, be sure to follow my amazing artist, Nico Longoria, on her socials: @nico.had.an.idea on Instagram and Tiktok! Their work is so good, and they added so many great ideas to this comic. I couldn’t be more proud of the results!
Lastly, I’ve been struggling to find time and energy for my related columns, especially because of the marketing for my comic. So my deep dive of Kishotenketsu is still being postponed. I think for this one, unlike the Arcane v Aristotle posts, I’m going try to write most of the parts completely before posting the first one. It has gotten to be rather complex, so I want to make sure I’ve got a handle on my conclusions before I start putting the first posts out.
In the meantime, I’ll give you something lighter. Casey O’Malley has some thoughts on some recent sightings of a Bigfoot (?) and UFO’s.
Until next time, stay curious and be kind!

A Headless Mystery & Flying Saucer-shaped Saucers!
Casey brings you the latest Bigfoot sighting that seems to be missing an important part of his anatomy and shares some UFO sightings that show saucers can still be saucers after all! Plus, we got a very unusual op-ed from an anonymous contributor who may need your help.
