MiMi’s Art Tips: Anime Anatomy!
I want to try to put more art tips that don’t require having a whole digital tablet and software setup, so I thought this might be a good start. I’m not sure how I got on this email list, but the breakdown of how to draw different body parts in an anime style is one of the best I’ve come across for the basics.
Whoever Mimi is, they offer a lot of other great tutorials, artist tips, and other resources as well.
Coloring a Comic Page in Clip Studio (with Kurt!)
Color with Kurt recently re-posted this great video that summarizes his entire coloring process in Clip Studio from beginning to end. Kurt has been working in the industry for a long time and has developed his own unique style for coloring comics quickly and efficiently.
Fair warning, if you are new to the coloring techniques Kurt is showing here, he is going to show a lot quickly that is going to take you a lot more time to figure out on your own. He notes these things in the video and provides links to deeper videos on individual topics. He is so skilled he makes some things look easy that will actually take you time to wrap your brain around if you are setting up your tools like his for the first time.
So if you are new to these techniques, it is a great starting point. If you have studied them for a while like I have, it is a good refresher. It definitely reminded me of some things I had forgotten. Plus, Kurt is a genuinely all around cool guy who shows a lot of humility. Party on, Kurt.
